At the Sign of the Prancing Pony

The Prancing Pony Farm Newsletter

Hi Reader,

โ€‹

It’s that time of year again. The time that makes me question my sanity for having a farm in Central California. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜† I love my animals and business, but our temperatures get to around 115 degrees in July and August. People say, “It’s a dry heat”. Yeah, it’s kind of like sticking your head in an oven. Not my idea of fun! ๐Ÿฅต

โ€‹

I am NOT a morning person, and the afternoons are way too hot to be outside. That means I do most of my farm chores after dark. Luckily, I have good lights in my barn and Puppy Parlor. And I can manage with my phone flashlight or a headlamp in remote pastures. Whatever works, right?!

โ€‹

But keeping my animals cool and comfortable in the heat is my biggest concern this time of year.

โ€‹

After spending summers on this farm for so long, I have learned many tips and tricks.

I published them in a comprehensive blog post with recommendations and links to some of the products I find especially useful. Many of these ideas are easy to implement and don’t cost much, either.
