Older Maremma Puppies & Started Dogs
We've done the hard part. Now they're ready for you.
These dogs have cleared the most intensive phase of early development — the constant supervision, the around-the-clock socialization, the weeks of careful handling and exposure work. They're past fragile. They're not fully formed yet, which means you still have real influence over who they become on your farm. What you're getting is a head start with room to make it your own.
Dogs on this page are typically between 4 and 18 months old.
Maremma Pricing by Age
Prancing Pony Maremmas increase in price as they mature. Older puppies, adolescents and adults have received additional months of livestock exposure, socialization, training, handling, observation, and development on our farm.
12 weeks–5 months: $3,500
6–11 months: $3,750
12–17 months: $4,000
18–23 months: $4,500
24+ months: Starting at $5,000
Individual dogs may be priced differently based on health, training, breeding status, background, or special placement circumstances.

Looking for a dog who can start working sooner?
An older dog and a younger dog together is one of the most common requests I get. I can rarely say yes, because I don’t often have older dogs available. Right now I do. If that’s the pairing you’ve been hoping for, this is your chance, and these dogs won’t be here long.

Puppies are listed at their base price. A card processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 is added at checkout and shown before you confirm.

Male · 1 year · Neutered · $4,000
Gentle, sweet, and great with goats and horses. He does best with one calm partner his age or older, like Electra or Carina, or possibly with a quiet, mature older puppy.
Best for: a peaceful goat or horse property.
Carina - Special Placement Adolescent
Female · Born September 2025 · MSCA Registered
Placement Fee: $2,000 alone or $1,500 with another Prancing Pony Maremma puppy or dog
Carina is a sweetheart who's good with goats, horses, cats, children, and other dogs. She has mild hip dysplasia in one hip, so she needs flat ground and a manageable job. A sound dog of her age and training would be $4,000.
Best for: a flat, mixed-species farm or family homestead. Also a candidate for a pet home.

Buying a Maremma Sheepdog From Us is Easy!
Step 1
Get on the email list
This is where everyone starts. You'll receive several emails over the next week or two covering our program, our dogs, and what successful Maremma ownership actually looks like. This gives you everything you need to decide if we're the right fit — before either of us invests more time.
Step 2
Apply for a puppy
When you're ready to move forward, you'll fill out a short application and schedule a phone call with me at the same time. The application helps me understand what you're looking for in a dog before we talk. The call is where we actually figure out if one of our dogs is the right match for you.
Step 3
Reserve your dog
Reservations start with a $500 non-refundable Master Reservation Fee that holds your place in line and applies toward your purchase price. When a litter is confirmed, a second $500 Litter Commitment Payment locks your specific spot — bringing your total to $1,000, all applied toward your purchase price.
🚨 IMPORTANT: PAYMENT TIMELINE
We usually have multiple people interested in our dogs at the same time. When you're ready to move forward, I'll send you a direct payment link to our secure website checkout. Dogs are held for 24 hours once that link is sent as a courtesy.
You must complete payment within 24 hours to secure the dog.

The $100 consultation fee is non-refundable. If you reserve a specific puppy or dog, or join our Master Reservation List, within 7 days, the full fee is applied to your reservation. A consultation does not reserve a puppy.
