We’re always glad to hear from reliable, animal-loving people who live nearby.
We're looking for dependable, animal-loving people who live near the farm to help us care for our Maremma Sheepdogs, goats, and other animals. Please read this whole page before you apply. We want you to know exactly what the job is.
We have a few part-time positions. Even when we’re not actively hiring, we keep applications on file and reach out when a spot opens.

What the Job Really Is
Let's be honest up front: this is mostly a poop patrol job. Most of your time will be spent cleaning up after dogs, puppies, and goats. Puppy cuddles happen, but cleaning is the heart of the job.
- Scooping dog and puppy poop in yards, runs, and kennels
- Shoveling goat manure and hauling it by wheelbarrow
- Scrubbing kennels, puppy areas, bowls, and buckets
- Refilling food and water, moving feed bags
- General barn and grounds upkeep
- Over time, helping with puppy socialization and training under Kim's guidance
All tasks are laid out on a written daily checklist, and our step-by-step procedures are documented so you always know what "done right" looks like.
Schedule & Pay
- Days: 2 to 3 days a week, on a consistent weekly schedule
- Hours: about 2 to 3 hours per visit, with extra hours during busy seasons like puppy litters
- Pay: $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience
- Location: you must live nearby and have reliable transportation
Short, local shifts work well for retirees, parents with kids in school, and students who want real animal experience.
Who Thrives Here
- You genuinely don't mind getting dirty
- You show up on time, every time, and give notice if something comes up
- You finish every task to standard, even when no one is watching
- You're calm and patient with animals, including big dogs and pushy goats
- You can lift 40 to 50 lb feed bags and work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and mud
- You take feedback well and like learning the right way to do things
