What Does “Lifetime Client Support” From Prancing Pony Farm Actually Look Like?

It starts the day you reserve, it costs you nothing, and it never runs out.

“Lifetime” here means exactly that. My support starts the day you reserve your puppy and lasts through your dog’s whole life — and past it. You can text me, email me, call me, or book a full consult call whenever you need one. My training and consulting clients pay $100 an hour for those calls. My puppy clients get them free, for as long as they have a Prancing Pony Maremma. And if that dog ever moves to a new home, the support moves with them.

When Does Support Actually Start?

It starts the day you reserve — not the day you pick up your puppy.

Most of the hard questions come before your dog ever gets home. Where will they sleep? How do I set up my fencing? What do I do with my chickens the first weeks? You shouldn’t have to figure that out alone just because your final payment isn’t in yet.

So I don’t wait. Once you’ve reserved, you have me. Some breeders go quiet after the sale. I’d rather you hear from me too much than wonder where I went.

What Can Clients Actually Ask Me?

Anything. Big or small, urgent or “probably silly.”

I get a lot of texts that start with “Sorry to bother you…” Please skip that part. If you’ve ever felt like you were bothering a breeder, you won’t feel that here. Your questions are the reason this support exists.

Clients ask me about:

  • Livestock introductions and setbacks
  • Barking, roaming, digging, and play that gets too rough
  • Feeding, growth, and vet questions
  • Fencing, shelter, and weather
  • New animals, new kids, or a move to a new property
  • “Is this normal?” — the most common question of all, and a great one

How Does Support Work — Text, Call, or Something Else?

Whatever matches the question. A quick text or email works for “Is this normal?” A booked phone call or Zoom consultation works for “We need a plan.”

  • Text or email: For quick questions, photos, and short videos. Send them as things happen.
  • Phone calls: For when it’s easier to talk it through.
  • Booked zoom consultations: The same consultations my paying training clients book. We look at your setup, your goals, and your dog, and build a plan together.

Support isn’t limited to the person who bought the puppy. It covers whoever is hands-on with your dog. Spouses, employees - we can all work through questions and plans for your dog.

What’s the Difference Between This and a $100/Hour Consult?

There isn’t one. That’s the point.

When someone who didn’t buy a dog from me needs help with their livestock guardian dog, they book a consult. Those calls are $100 an hour. My puppy clients get that same service — same time, same expertise, same attention — free. Not for the first year. For life.

I do this because a well-raised puppy is only half the job. The other half is an owner who knows what they’re seeing. I’d rather invest in that than hope it works out.

Training clients pay $100/hour for LGD consult calls.
Prancing Pony puppy clients pay $0 — for the life of their dog.

Plus a Whole Community: Maremmas Made Easy, Included

One-on-one help from me is only part of it. Every Prancing Pony puppy also comes with Maremmas Made Easy — my membership (launching soon) just for Maremma owners — included in the price of your puppy. You don’t have to wait for pickup day. You can join for freev once you’ve reserved your Prancing Pony Maremma.

Here’s what that adds:

  • Live group Q&A calls with me and other Maremma owners. Bring your questions, or just listen and learn from everyone else’s.
  • Call replays. Can’t make it live? Every call is recorded so you never miss the insights that help you thrive with your Maremma. Watch when it works for you.
  • A searchable resource library that keeps growing, so answers are easy to find.
  • A friendly owner community — a private, drama-free member discussion area, including other Maremma owners who know exactly what you’re going through.

Texts and calls cover your dog. The membership surrounds you with people who get it.

What Happens If Something Goes Wrong?

You call me, and we work through it together.

Life doesn’t always go to plan. Dogs get sick. Behavior problems come up. People get hurt, change jobs, or sell the farm. None of that ends our relationship. I’ll help you figure out what’s going on and what your options are — whether that’s a training plan, a vet visit, or a new setup.

If keeping your dog truly isn’t possible, my Lifetime No-Fault Return Policy means your dog always has a way back to me. No blame, no guilt trip.

Does Support Continue If My Dog Passes Away?

Yes. You’re still my client, and you’re still part of this farm’s story.

Losing a dog is hard, and sometimes it comes too soon — illness, bloat, or a dog who goes missing and never comes home. I’ve walked through those losses with clients, and I’ll walk through yours.

That might mean talking through what happened. It might mean planning for the next dog when you’re ready. Or it might just mean someone who knew your dog, and understands what you lost.

What If I’m Not the Original Owner?

You’re covered. My support follows the dog, not the receipt.

Prancing Pony Maremmas sometimes change homes. Here’s how that usually happens — and the answer is the same every time.

  • I help find the new home. When a family can’t keep their dog, I help place them either by referral or directly. Read how a client’s farm sale meant finding new homes for seven dogs and how I helped find homes for those dogs.
  • You find the new home and keep me in the loop. The new owner gets the same lifetime support you had, starting the day the dog arrives.
  • The dog changed homes before I heard about it. My contract asks owners to let me know first. It doesn’t always happen, and I’m not going to hold that against a dog or its new family. If you have a Prancing Pony dog and nobody told you about me — reach out. I’m here.

If you’re caring for one of my dogs, you’re one of my people.

What Are Real Clients Saying About PPF Support?

These are real messages from real clients — some months after pickup, some years. Names and details are changed to protect their privacy.

When the Neighbors Complained

More than a year after bringing home their two Maremmas, a client got an anonymous letter from a neighbor. It claimed the dogs barked nonstop. My client was upset and didn’t know where to start.

We worked through it together. LGDs bark when something sets them off, then they stop — they don’t bark for hours on end. I walked them through how to explain that, pointed them to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, and suggested cameras so they’d have a record of what the dogs actually do. And I stayed in their corner while it played out.

Their message afterward, unprompted: “Thank you for your ongoing support and guidance… We love you.”

Lifetime Support FAQ

Is lifetime support really free?

Yes. Texts, calls, and consult calls are free for as long as you have a Prancing Pony dog. A few services are separate, like the DIAL Method® program or having me handle your vet appointments. I’ll always tell you up front if something has a cost.

Is the Maremmas Made Easy membership included too?

Yes. It’s included in the price of your puppy, and you can join once you’ve reserved. Learn more about Maremmas Made Easy.

Do you help with training problems years later?

Yes. It doesn't matter how old your dog is. New animals, new property, new behavior — call me.

Do I need to live near you?

No. My dogs live in multiple states, Canada, and even Hawaii. Texts, calls, and video consults work anywhere.

Can my partner, kids, or farm help contact you too?

Yes. Whoever is caring for your dog can reach out. Just let me know who they are.

What if I need to rehome my dog?

Call me first. I’ll help you find a good home or bring your dog back under my Lifetime No-Fault Return Policy. If you find a home yourself, keep me in the loop so the new owner gets support too.

I got my Maremma secondhand. Am I covered?

Yes. If your dog came from Prancing Pony Farm, you have lifetime support — even if you never met me. Reach out and introduce yourself.

Does support cover my other dogs?

When I’m already helping your household with a Prancing Pony Maremma, I’m glad to help with the other dogs living alongside them. They’re part of the same picture.
