Jack: Gentle Young Male Maremma, Great With Goats and Horses
A quiet, sweet, beautiful young LGD looking for one calm partner and a peaceful farm.
Jack is one of the gentlest young males I've raised. He's excellent with goats and horses, easy with most adult dogs, and soft-hearted with people. He came back to me through my Lifetime No-Fault Return Policy, through no fault of his own, and he's ready for his next home.

Where Jack Came From
Jack was born and raised in my program. He came back to me through my Lifetime No-Fault Return Policy, through no fault of his own. When a dog comes home to me, I evaluate him more carefully than any other dog I place. A returned dog deserves for his next home to be exactly right, and I've taken my time getting to know Jack again before listing him.

What to Know Before You Apply
He's sensitive. Jack is quiet, soft, and a bit shy. A big, rowdy group of puppies overwhelms him. He does his best with one calm partner his age or older.
He's still settling after his neuter. Young males often take a few months to level out after neutering. He's sweet and steady now, and he'll keep maturing in his new home.
Chickens are untested. If poultry is your main need, let's talk first. I won't promise what I haven't seen.
Who Jack Is Now
- Livestock: Great with goats and horses, but he's still young and may occasionally get the zoomies as he continues to mature.
- Other dogs: Good with most adult dogs.
- Young dogs: Fine with one or two adolescents or older pups, but not a big, rowdy group.
- Personality: Quiet, sensitive, sweet, and a bit shy.

The Right Home for Jack

Jack will thrive with:
- Goats, horses, or both
- One calm dog his age or older, maybe a mature, settled younger dog
- A peaceful property and a patient, quiet family
- A home with older, quiet children or teens, or no kids
Jack is not the right dog for:
- A home adding several puppies at once
- A home with loud, busy young children
- A poultry-only home, until we've talked it through

Jack Comes With Lifetime Support
- Lifetime one-on-one support from me: texts, calls, and consults for the life of your dog
- The Maremmas Made Easy membership: weekly live Q&A calls, replays, and a community of owners
- A transition plan for his first weeks on your farm
- Complete health and veterinary records
- Our Lifetime No-Fault Return Policy
I'm a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner, a Licensed Family Dog Mediator and an MSCA Code of Ethics breeder, with more than 200 Maremmas placed in working and companion homes.

"I can’t say enough good things about Kim Crawmer and Prancing Pony Farm. From the very beginning, Kim was kind, patient, and genuinely interested in understanding what kind of dog would fit best with our life here on Maui — our land, our lifestyle, and our hearts. She picked Caia for us, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect match. Caia is confident, adaptable, and sweet. She handled everything — the long trip to Hawaii, the chaos of construction at our house, meeting new people, learning about beaches and island life — with so much calm and curiosity. That doesn’t just happen by chance. It’s the result of all the work, socialization, and care Kim puts into her puppies from the start."
