It's a New Year

It’s hard to believe that 2025 is finally here. Where did the time go?

Looking Back at 2024

Electra had three lovely pups in February. Lucy is now guarding chickens in Massachusetts and Levi and Jocelyn are guarding goats in Texas.

Completion of the 6 Month Long Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional Program - the In-Person Workshop

Six months of hard work finally paid off the week of April 9-13, 2024, when I attended the Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional program. I have officially completed this very rigorous professional dog training program! I learned so much throughout the six-month program and even more during the five-day workshop.

My training partner for the KPA Professional program was Luna, our 6-year-old Boxer. On April 8th, Luna and I headed to Corona, California, for an incredible week of dog training and fun with the other students and their training partners. My husband, Steve, accompanied us since I am not a fan of driving in SoCal traffic! Steve hung out at the hotel each day while Luna and I trained and learned. Our youngest son, Noah, took great care of the animals while we were gone.

If you would like to read more about the KPA Professional workshop, you can read the blog post I wrote on my old website (now the goat website) by clicking the button below:

Marcella's Litter - June

Marcella’s litter of six was born in June of 2024. This was good timing after the KPA Professional workshop and before things got too hot out. These pups are so much fun and are shaping into fine LGDs.

Circe's Litter - July

Circe had her litter of eleven puppies in July. This was a huge litter, especially for a first time mom. Circe was such a rock-star and an absolutely amazing mom. She loves her puppies so much and is a gentle and patient mentor to them. The pups are adorable and sweet and growing into great LGDs.

Gianna's Litter - December

Gianna’s litter was born about a week before Christmas. Sadly, only two of her puppies survived, but they are healthy, adorable, and doing great.

Welcome 2025!

Now, it’s a new year with lots of exciting adventures ahead – puppies, baby goats and more projects that I’ll write about later. Here’s to hoping everyone has a great 2025!
