The Prancing Pony Farm Newsletter

Hello Reader,

โ€‹

I hope you’re having a good week! Twice this week, I was asked about toys and activities for Livestock Guardian Dog puppies.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿถ The first was a member of my Living and Working with Maremma Sheepdogs Facebook group, who wanted to know what toys were recommended for a 3-month-old puppy. The second was one of my puppy clients who lives in Connecticut and to whom I sent two puppies last week. She wanted to know what toys were ok for her pups.

This is a topic I have wanted to write about for a while, so I finally decided to do it. This post is a general overview of toys and enrichment activities for LGDs with recommendations for toys you can buy, as well as ones you can make. I will revisit this topic in the future with follow-up posts because I have lots more to say about this subject! But for now here you go!

What about you and your dogs? What is your pup’s favorite toy? (Mine love toys but Amazon boxes and empty soda bottles are a big hit, too. ๐Ÿ˜†) I love hearing from my subscribers, so let me know!

Just hit reply to this e-mail and say hello!

Kim
