Hi Reader,

Happy New Year! Can you believe that it’s already 2025? I can’t. Where did 2024 even go? It zoomed by so fast. It was a busy year but so different from past years. Here’s a fun video I made of some of the highlights.

video preview

We skipped kidding season in 2024 because I was going through the intense 6-month-long Karen Pryor Academy Dog Trainer Professional program. We did end up with six kids because two of my does apparently didn’t get the memo that they were supposed to be on vacation. 😂 But that’s a far cry from the over 100 kids we usually have, and it was very odd not to have bouncing baby goats everywhere.

Those kids were all bought by the Santa Barbara Zoo for their petting zoo (to be added to the four goats they purchased from us in 2023), so they didn’t stay here long. So, while the year was much less busy than usual on the goat side of things, I was plenty busy with the Professional program and raising and training the 4 Maremma litters we had.

Now, we are looking forward to what 2025 has in store. This will include Maremma puppies, baby goats (starting in March), and some other exciting projects I’m working on, so stay tuned for more info!

Happy New Year,

Kim
