Description
Vet Care Before Your Puppy Comes Home
Sometimes it makes sense to get vet work done while your puppy is still here with me. Maybe you’d like something taken care of before you drive out for pickup. Or maybe your puppy is staying longer and needs a visit before their final health certificate appointment. Either way, I’ll handle it so you don’t have to.
Common reasons people add this service:
- Additional vaccinations or boosters before pickup or travel
- A wellness exam, or a specific test or procedure you’d like done
- A vet visit for a puppy staying on the farm longer than planned
- Vet work needed before the final health certificate (CVI) appointment
What’s Included
For each appointment, I handle:
- Scheduling. I book the appointment at a time that works with your puppy’s plans.
- Transport. Round-trip transportation to and from the clinic.
- Handling. I stay with your puppy through the whole visit, so a familiar person is with them during a new experience.
- Communication. I share the results, records, and any notes from the vet with you after the visit.
A Calm, Farm-Style Vet Visit
My veterinarian, Dr. Kayla McCrone of Valley Veterinary Services, practices from her farm, so your puppy’s vet visits feel very different from a busy clinic. There are no crowded waiting rooms, barking dogs, or harsh smells. Instead, the sights, sounds, and smells are much like my farm. Because the environment already feels familiar, puppies stay relaxed, and their early vet experiences can be calm and positive instead of stressful.
Why This Is a Paid Service
Each vet visit takes a good part of my day, between driving, waiting, the appointment itself, and follow-up. This fee covers that time so I can offer this care to every client who wants it, without taking time away from the puppies and dogs at home.
Your puppy gets something valuable out of it, too. I use every vet visit to build calm, positive experiences, so your pup learns that the vet is a safe place. That foundation pays off at every appointment for the rest of their life.
Pricing
$100 per dog, per appointment. If you need more than one visit or have more than one dog, adjust the quantity at checkout. For example, two dogs at one appointment = quantity 2.
Setting Up Your Vet Account
Vet charges go straight from the clinic to you, so you’ll need your own account with Valley Veterinary Services before your puppy’s first appointment. Please call the clinic to set up your account, and choose how you’d like to pay:
- Leave a card on file, so charges are paid automatically after each visit, or
- Call the clinic after the appointment to pay over the phone.
Once you purchase this service, I’ll send you the clinic’s contact information. Please have your account ready before the appointment date so there’s no delay in your puppy’s care.
What’s Not Included
Vet charges. You are responsible for all charges from the veterinarian and any outside lab, including exam fees, vaccines, tests, medications, and procedures. These are billed separately and paid directly to the clinic through your account.
The final health certificate appointment. If your puppy is shipping, the health certificate (CVI) visit is already included in my Shipping Coordination service.
Hawaii preparation visits. If your puppy is going to Hawaii, please see my Hawaii Veterinary Visit Package, which covers the three extra visits Hawaii requires.
Before You Purchase
Please reach out before you buy so we can talk through what your puppy needs and confirm timing with my vet. That way, the appointment is planned around your pickup or travel date, and nothing gets rushed.
