Happy New Year! I know it’s a bit late, but things have been busy here at Prancing Pony Farm, especially over the holidays. But I wanted to update everyone on what’s been going on recently and what’s coming up for 2024. There’s lots to tell, but I will just hit the highlights. Otherwise, this could go on forever. 😆

Farm Updates

KPA Professional Program Update I have officially passed the halfway point in the KPA DTP program! I am in unit 3 of the 4-unit program. Things are getting intense! I am learning advanced dog training skills, which will significantly benefit my Maremma clients in the future. Read article

PennHip, OFA & DNA Testing After years of waiting patiently, my wonderful farm vet finally became certified this month to do both PennHip & OFA dog exams! Soon, all PPF Maremmas will be PennHIP, OFA (hips & elbows), and DNA tested! Read article

Taking Reservations for 2024 Maremma Puppies! Once Professionals is over, I will have lots of time to devote to training puppies and a lot of new skills to practice with them. That’s all I have for now. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to send emails or post to the blog as frequently as I’d like. The KPA DTP Program has been so intense that I have to stay focused to keep on track so I will graduate on time. But rest assured that once I finish that, I will get back to writing helpful Maremma training and dairy goat care articles more consistently. And what I am learning in the program will help me serve LGD owners everywhere, so stay tuned!
