Meet Kazi: Big Personality, Solid Foundation, Ready for Her Farm
Adolescent Female Maremma Sheepdog ~ Working Placement ~ $3,500
Kazi is one of those dogs who makes an impression the moment you meet her. Friendly, enthusiastic, and genuinely easy to be around — she has the kind of personality that makes the work of raising a young LGD feel worth every minute. She’s past the tiny puppy stage and already building her working foundation with goats, horses, and poultry. Now she’s looking for the farm where she’ll spend the rest of her life doing what she was bred to do.
Prancing Pony Kazimyrah

Kazi has been raising eyebrows since she was tiny — in the best possible way. She came out of the whelping box with a personality dialed up to ten and hasn’t turned it down since. She’s the dog who finds you in the field, leans into your leg, and then trots back to check on her goats like she’s got places to be.
She was raised alongside goats and horses from her first weeks of life and has been exposed to poultry as well. She knows livestock. She respects them. She’s also a year old — which means she still has moments of enthusiasm that outpace her judgment. The occasional zoom around the pasture is a very real part of who she is right now. But her foundation is solid, her instincts are right, and she’s on the trajectory that well-bred Maremmas are known for.
If you’ve raised a young LGD before and you know what “mostly good, still growing” looks like in practice, Kazi is exactly what you’d hope to find.

What Makes Kazi Stand Out
Miss Personality Kazi isn’t a dog who disappears into the pasture and ignores you. She’s warm, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about people — without losing her focus on her livestock. That combination is highly prized in a working Maremma.
Trustworthy with Livestock She’s been living with goats and horses since she was a puppy. She knows the job. She takes it seriously. The zooms are real, but they’re the exception — not the pattern.
Gets Along with Other Dogs Kazi is social with both male and female dogs. She does best with a partner (as most Maremmas do), and she’s the kind of dog who makes integration easier, not harder.
Not an Escape Artist She left that talent entirely to her sister, Lia. Kazi stays where she’s supposed to be — a trait that is genuinely underrated until you’ve dealt with its opposite.
Health-Tested Foundation Kazi has been PennHip tested with good scores. Her skeletal health has been evaluated, documented, and confirmed — giving you a foundation you can build on for years to come. She is not being sold as a breeding dog.
Who Kazi Is Right For
Kazi is a great fit if you:
- Have experience with LGDs and understand adolescent development
- Are ready for a dog who is mostly working and still maturing
- Want a young dog you can bond with and grow into your program
- Have — or are also acquiring — a compatible canine partner for her
- Have goats, horses, poultry, or some combination of the above
- Value personality and people-connection alongside working drive
Kazi is not the right fit if you need a fully seasoned, nothing-phases-her working dog from day one. She’ll get there. She’s just not there yet. If that’s what you need, check out our other available dogs — or reach out and let’s talk through what would actually serve your farm best.

A Note on Partners
Kazi does best with a canine partner. This isn’t a dealbreaker — it’s just honest. Maremmas are social working dogs, and a solo placement sets most of them up for struggles that aren’t necessary. If you don’t currently have a compatible LGD, I’m happy to talk through your options, including whether any of our other dogs or upcoming litters might be a good pairing for her.
