Yes, you may purchase and ship an airline-approved crate package to us at your own expense.

However, most clients choose our packages because:

We’ve seen clients order the wrong sizes (too small for safe travel)
Missing components (wrong type of bedding, missing dishes)
Non-compliant crates (rejected by airlines)
Shipping delays that push back travel dates
Assembly errors or missing hardware

What Happens After You Order

Step 1: You purchase the correct crate package for your dog’s size

Step 2: We assemble the crate with all the included components

Step 3: On travel day, we prepare the crate with:

Your dog’s travel information and labels
Properly attached water dish (filled before flight)
Food dish with food for layover care (if applicable)
All required “Live Animal” stickers and documentation
Your contact information for pickup

Step 4: We transport your Maremma to the airport in the prepared crate

Step 5: Your dog travels safely and arrives ready for pickup

Refund Policy

A 15% restocking fee applies if you cancel before the crate is assembled and prepared for your dog.

Non-refundable once the crate is assembled with your dog’s travel information and prepared for shipping.

Returns must be requested within 30 days of purchase.

Q: How do I know which sizecrate package to order?

A: Contact us! We know your dog’s age and size. General rule: 12-14 weeks = 36″, 15+ weeks = 40″. When in doubt, go larger.

Q: What if I already have a crate at home?

A: Contact us with the dimensions, and we’ll verify if it meets airline requirements. It must be sturdy plastic (not wire), have proper ventilation, and be large enough for your dog to stand and turn. You’ll need to mail it to us well in advance of the trip.

Q: What happens to the crate after my dog arrives?

A: You keep it! It’s yours after pickup. Many clients use them for travel. You can also resell or donate your crate to a shelter or rescue.

Q: Can my dog use this crate after the flight?

A: Absolutely! These are high-quality crates suitable for continued use at home, though Maremmas typically don’t need crates once settled. They are handy for trips to the vet or other travel. If you wish to continue to use your crate, you will definitely want to get the 40″ crate because all Maremmas outgrow the 36″ crates quickly.

Q: Do I need to do anything to the crate before travel?

A: No! We handle all assembly, labeling, and preparation. The crate arrives at the airport completely ready for your dog’s journey.

Great question! We don’t make a profit on travel crate packages – we provide them as a convenience service to ensure you get the right components.

Here’s the honest breakdown:

We purchase crates retail (just like you would), which means:

We pay full retail price (no wholesale discounts)
We pay sales tax on every purchase
We pay payment processing fees when we sell them
We pay for assembly time and materials (zip ties, labels, etc.)
We store them until your travel date

The price you pay covers:

Our actual cost to purchase the crate + components (pad, dishes, etc)
Sales tax we paid
Payment processing fees
Assembly and preparation labor
Storage space

We round to even numbers for simplicity, but we’re essentially passing along our costs – not marking up for profit.
