I can’t believe this day has come, but I am writing this email in a sweater! It’s finally sweater weather in California! Or at least it is at night. 😆
I’m sure we will have a few more hot days before fall comes for real, but at least the 110-degree days are history for another year! I’m also equally sure I’ll be complaining that it’s too cold soon, but I will enjoy the fall weather while I can. Though no pumpkin spice lattes for me, thank you very much! Yuck! 😆
Doe Giveaway Winner
I’m happy to announce that we finally have a winner in our doe giveaway contest! The contest results took longer to post than planned because the first few chosen winners could not claim their prizes for various personal reasons. But the lucky winner (whom I’ll call KJ, for privacy) was able to get her goat – literally! She won Prancing Pony Hotel California (Cali), a beautiful 4-year-old registered Nigerian Dwarf doe.
Wether Giveaway Coming Soon!
I plan to do a wether giveaway, with possibly more than one winner, for the spring kidding season, so stay tuned for details if you’re interested in bringing home an adorable free baby goat! That giveaway will be done towards the end of kidding season (probably May or June) after all the kids are weaned and ready to go to new homes.
Taking Reservations for Spring Kids
If you want a doeling, a buck, or just want to ensure you get the top pick of the cutest wethers, you can place a reservation now for 2024 kids. I just posted the breeding plan to my website. It can be seen at the link below. We will also have bred does and does in milk available. All goats are sold (and kids chosen) on a first-come, first-served basis, so hurry and reserve yours now!
More Free Goats
I also have a few goats I want to give away to good homes so I can focus more on my Maremma breeding and training. These are all high-quality, registered goats, but I will not include the registration papers. (Though I might sell them registered at a discount.)
Priority will go to anyone who has purchased Maremmas or goats from me in the past or to anyone who is making a purchase now. (I like to send puppies home with a couple of goat buddies.) But if anyone else is interested, you can fill out my goat contact form, and I’ll let you know what I have available.
Please indicate in the form that you’re interested in the free goats, so I’ll know. You will receive an automated reply from me and the goat questionnaire. You must fill out the questionnaire if you want to be considered for a free goat—no exceptions!
