Hi Reader,
โ
I had grand plans to write an awesome blog post for you this week. A few days ago, someone emailed to ask if Maremmas can be kept as pets. She said there was a lot of conflicting information, and she wasn’t sure what to think. (She’s right.) This topic is near and dear to my heart, and I’ve wanted to write about it for a long time. So, I decided to write about it this week and send it to you.
โ
But I had a surprise visit from my oldest daughter, Ashley, and her youngest child, Audrey. Whenever my grandkids visit, I take the opportunity to have some puppy socialization time. So Audrey and I went to the air-conditioned Puppy Parlor to play with Marcella’s 6-week-old pups. (Which is a great place to be when it’s 110 degrees outside! I am so thankful my puppies don’t have to be out in this heat. Nor do I!)
โ
We did some clicker training with the pups, dewormed them, trimmed their nails, took photos and videos for the website and social media, and had fun playing with these six adorable fluff balls. Audrey also helped me decide on the final names for the pups, which I’ll announce once I sort through the photos and upload them to the website.
โ
By the time I came in from outside, it was very late. Though I did work on the companion Maremma post for a while, I finally realized that I’m just not going to be able to finish it tonight. So, instead, here’s an adorable video demonstrating how to trim a Maremma puppy’s nails starring Audrey and Betty. (Hint at the puppy name theme.) Enjoy!

I’ll try to finish the blog post by next week. In the meantime, let me know if you have anything you’d like to ask or share.
Don’t be shy. Just hit reply and say hello!
