Hello Reader,
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s almost November! Soon, it will be Christmas! Where has 2024 gone?! It’s also hard to believe that the Maremma puppies who were born in June and July are big enough to go to new homes. One of Marcella’s pups left about a week ago, and two more (one of Marcella’s and one of Circe’s) left yesterday. And two more of Circe’s pups leave in about a week.

The pups who left yesterday are going all the way to Connecticut. I have placed many puppies back east and all over the US and Canada, but these are the first to go to Connecticut. One day, there will probably be Prancing Pony Maremmas in every state!

People sometimes ask me if I get sad when the puppies leave. It can be bittersweet because I love these pups, but mostly, it’s exciting to see them go off to new homes where they will do important work and be loved by new families.

April, the proud new owner of these adorable pups, plans to provide food for people in need through livestock production. These pups will grow up to guard those animals, and therefore, they will help feed the needy. I am quite proud and happy to have pups I bred helping with such a worthy cause. 💜

My new Maremma website is finished (mostly), and I posted my first real blog post there (not counting the test posts I made while figuring out how a WordPress blog works). I also posted my “last” LGD post on the old blog.

From now on, I will post any LGD blog content on the new WordPress website and any goat content on the Weebly site. But don’t worry. I’ll share links to all new posts in this email list so you don’t miss anything. Here are the links to the new posts below, and there is a new video I made tonight (inspired by the owner of the Connecticut pups), as well:
