Hello, and welcome to my brand-new website and blog! For those who don’t know me, my name is Kim Crawmer, and I am a breeder and trainer of MSCA-registered Maremma Sheepdogs. I also breed Mini Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. My farm and business are Prancing Pony Farm, and I have been in business since 2016.
I built my original website on Weebly at prancingponyfarm.com and have been blogging there for years. I have many great blog posts and helpful LGD articles on that site. I’ve wanted to move my website and blog to WordPress for a long time, but I was afraid to do so for several reasons. The first reason is that I was worried that moving to a new site would mess up my ranking on Google and that no one could find me. The second thing that held me back was that I always heard that WordPress is “really hard” to figure out, and I didn’t think I could do it.
But about a month ago, I finally decided to make a change. I also decided that instead of moving my entire site, I would just move the Maremmas to a new WordPress site (here) and leave the goats where they are, on the old site. The idea was that, hopefully, my Google ranking wouldn’t be adversely impacted on my old site that way, and I would have time to figure out WordPress and build my new Maremma site at my own pace. So, I purchased a new domain name for this site, and prancingponymaremmas.com was born!
Over the last few weeks, I have been slowly building my new website and getting things the way I wanted. It wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be, and I wish I had done this years ago. In fact, I must say I’m pretty much obsessed with WordPress! In the words of Princess Anna, “This is amazing!!”
WordPress will allow me to make my website more helpful than ever to people like you while also decreasing my workload so I have more time to train those adorable Maremma puppies!
I still want to add and tweak things on the website, but it’s time to start working on the blog for this site. That will be a much slower process, so in the meantime, if you need any info about Maremmas, I suggest you search the original Prancing Pony Farm blog. Otherwise, stay tuned for future posts full of helpful Maremma Sheepdog training and care info!
